Not Condor! I went to Condor yesterday with a broken spoke.I told them it had just snapped a mile away. The guy told me that the wheel should be rebuilt with new spokes and a new rim as the buckle was to extreme to fix. He said all my spokes were now out of tension and i would be chasing the buckle and breaking more spokes. I decided that this sounded like bullshit and that i would put a new spoke in for 65p and see how that went. 20mins later perfect wheel again. This kind of thing just reinforces my using bike shops as a showroom before buying on the internet. If i had decent service and advice from a LBS i would buy from it and be happy. London continually disappoints in this respect. I guess now Monty has long retired, Condor and its mechanics are sadly lacking any wheel building/trueing knowledge.

you know your right. I know what to expect from Condor, and i am very glad they are there. It is more a symptom of service in all London bike shops. The ill informed or over confident shop staff letting there opinions come across like they are facts. The thing that really annoys is that when they are shown to be wrong they won't admit it but find some more hyperbole to spew out.
