Why exactly? I mean I love the frame and the colour I just don't see the point of making the frame unusable for gears
I only intended to run as a fixed - and wanted the lines as smooth as possible.. However, in the 70s these frames usually didnt have braze ons anyway, you used cable clips and band-on mechs etc. It is quite likely that they had been added at some point in the 80s/90s as an upgrade..
So frame is still totally usable for gears and would make a perfect retro build with 70s groupset if desired.

Hi mate, what length is the top tube?
I'm 5'8"; worried it might be a little bit too big.
Hi - top tube is 21.5 inches (jst under 55cm) c-c.
I'm 5'10" with inside leg of 31 and it's on the small side for me - hence why I'm selling...

Lovely 1977 KOM 531 frame - refurbished by Mercian in 2007 at a cost of £220 - receipt available.. All brazings removed and period Reynolds 531 transfers applied.
Seat tube is 21.5" c-t in old money, just under 55cm in newspeak..
Orange enamel, Blue band with Blue lug lining..
Very good condition - some touch ups for very minor chips and drop outs where tug nuts have been..
Included in sale - Campag record headset and Miche BB... Easy build ready to go...
Looking for first £300 plus post all in..

Hi - are you desperate for a pure track frame? I have a 1977 King of Mercia that I am now selling... refurbed a few years back. Nearly all braze ons removed and i ran it as a fixed.. it's just the frame I'm selling not complete bike.. but will sell with Miche bb and Campagnolo record headset if required.... I have now stripped it down and will be taking more pics this w/end...

Hi - friend of mine has asked me to sell his Mercian 24" Vigorrelli in flamboyant red... made for him this summer from Reynolds 631, campag ends, open pro on miche hubs with gatorskins, lovely nearly new Brooks Swift, 105 front brake, Campag chainset Cinelli bars... very nice but he's after £795.. or near offer. Can send pics if you're interested...?

Positive ref age. Frame no is stamped on fork blades and ends in 77 signifying year - verified by Mercian. Not under bottom bracket as cable routers were added at some point...
