clearly i am an idiot but even after reading various old threads can i just confirm that my old miche lockring will not work on my impending glodtech hub ? opinion seem to be that i can use my italian threaded cog as the tolerances are close. poor and paranoid about stripping it.

you can fix it
you can just get the fork tracked (ie straightened) at a frame builders. they can also remove the stem. something to do with the alu cold forging with the steel. bob jacksons did mine no probs, cost about 10 to remove the stem and 15 to track the bent forks.
you would have to get to leeds to visit bob jackson's tho, must be somewhere in london can do the same.Ron
