The straps of my backpack and the buckles are starting to disagree with each other -- i.e. the buckles do not seem to firmly grip the straps anymore, and they slide up when I'm riding, which is a royal PITA.

My plan is to (1) unstitch the buckles off, (2) put proper ladder lock buckles on, (3) restitch everything together. Because I do not have a sewing machine I will pay you money to do the above (I can get the buckles if necessary).
I guess that, given the sewing machine, the job would not take hours -- if the cost is more than 50 quid (new buckles excluded) I might as well get a new backpack and figure out whether I can sell the chrome.
If all goes well we might discuss two extra mods I'd like (adding loops for a waist belt and a semi rigid internal frame) but that are not strictly necessary.
