Aww This thread makes me want to cry a river of tears! So many sad stories. Hope you're in the mood for another one?
My late 80's T.J.Quick, of Forest hill, racer in red was stollen last tuesday (3/9/13) at 21:00-23:00 on Calvert ave in shoreditch. Although the bike was double locked with cable and D-lock the scumbags took the frame leaving me some wheels to take home on the bus.
The bike is the red one pictured (although rather depressingly the Peugeot was also stollen last year!). Distinguishing features include a dodgy respray around the BB with the wrong shade of red, bar tape pealing off on the right drop, a honky horn.
Please look out for it as it was a lovely machine to ride and I'm going mental looking through bike markets and thinking I see it everywhere. Please avoid Calvert Ave as its perfect for thieves being dark and Lacking in CCTV.

Hi Chaps
I've been an occasional lurker on the forum for a while now and thought I'd share this little project with you...http://static.londonfgss.com/memberpics981-albums947-picture5868.jpg
It's an 1938 A.J.Hodge frame (apparently the second he ever made), bought on Ebay. So far I've got a Brooks B17 sprinter (courtesy of Skully), a chater lea crankset and an a pair of Nitto Major Taylor bars (the nearest thing to Lauterwasser I could find)

-Nice inscription reads 'if you take care of me I will get you there'.
Any ideas or advice on where to source vintage parts like airlite hubs, nice GB bits and BB gratefully recieved. It takes a 63mm Chater Lea BB with 5/16" ball bearings I think...
Cheers

First thing's first: respray it.
No way couldn't denigh the british racing history! It's the same model that won the '78 tour de france
More importantly, it's the same model sitting in my flat. You definitely need to respray it.
