  Good tip on the over size hole withereed preacher, ta. I am reminded of my mum telling me not to sew replacement buttons on clothes on too tight - there needs to be some give!) - more drilling for me this PM...

  My morning ride over wet cobbles and sleeping policemen confirmed confirmed as much Amey. The rear guard flexes and bounces a fair bit yes! Not ideal... tho coverage was fine. The search goes on! (Pelago or PDW I suspect) Aluminium is the way I guess if going for single stay on the rear.

  So turns out I had a set of these, compatible -with - luggage - rack - only, SKS Bluemels in the back of the cupboard. (https://www.sks-germany.com/en/products/bluemels-series/bluemels-primus-28-45-black-set/) Fitted they look like this: Notice the leather spacers to get desired distance and cushioning from seat stay bridge. Drilling hole in right place on rear mudguard for said stay fixing was guess work! Anyways. Raining now so will report back.
