No idea , after a discussion with a friend of the family , petrol head solicitor , the dealer offered to buy it off me at what I thought was a fair price.
I think I bought a mk3 golf gti next , obviously thinking of German v Italian engineering . It was only the 8v which proved to be very dull , however in bright red it must of impressed my now wife , when I first pulled up outside her house.

I did see that and a real shame . It will be interesting to see what my dad does when his PCP ends in the next few months.I reckon he might buy the Veloce outright as he enjoys it so much. I think he bought his first Alfa back in 1968 .

Every needs to own an Alfa at some point .... last one I had was a 145 1.7 16V back in the late 90's.
Loved it and it ran like a dream until one day , having picked it up from the local Alfa dealer after a service . Less than a mile down the road and all the lights come on , the windscreen wipers start moving on their own , the alarm goes off and then smoke starts coming out of the bonnet.......
Dealer reckoned it was nothing to do with his mechanics and that my driving was at fault .
Still I'd have another alfa , my old mans had a few and is currently in a Giulia which I reckon is more fun to drive than my 340i.
I am 2 chapters in and disappointed that you have not made an appearance yet Clive ( unless you use Ray as an alias….).
