  In Italy the general rule is you have to book a bike ticket (about 1 euro or something)
  Regional trains are a pain to get up in as they have massive stairs, plus you might want to prebook the bike space (there isn't any to be honest, just a matter of being allowed to or not).
  For freccia rossa you need to book and there's allocated space and in some regions some sections have free bike carriage depending on where you travel and how

  Did anyone ever participate?

  It was great fun to race it for the first time.
  Quite a roadie event and comes with the added expense of fully cleaning the bike / servicing afterwards as sand and salt will make it scream.

  I'll definitely do it again, but probably single speed category as it doesn't really have much climbing and the bike will cost much less to service :D

  yeah partypace should be the way for this one. You just want to relax and breathe for this route. It's pretty easy with not many climbs and you mostly ride in quiet roads. The only sections I'd do faster are in busier roads near Diss/Norwich and in a few sections after Kings Lynn

  Yes we did. We started the route in Diss and went anti-clockwise to be able to catch a train in Thetford on the way back as trains had engineering works this weekend.

  First night we stayed in an hotel as we couldn't find a campsite that wasn't fully booked, but for night two we stayed in Hunstanton. There are several campsites there, but we stayed here.

  For night three we stayed near Thetford here

  There are plenty of woodland to wild camp in though, if you are into that

  If you haven't tried this route I would recommend it!
  Ideally Sprint or Summer for a more pleasing (and dry) experience.

  We bikepacked this route easter weekend. A bit busier but not so much and mostly paved
