Ha, I thought you might recognise the route. I need to put the guards on your old Genesis really. It's wasted being my summer bike.

November 3rd and still in shorts and summer shoes.

Between November and March I usually follow the mantra of twenty being plenty for my day rides and along with commuting this usually keeps me in good shape ready for spring. Luckily there is some nice riding around me without needing to do big miles.

Lack of All City love lately, so thought I'd chuck some pics in the thread.

It was only a stripped thread in the derailleur hanger and it was before they ED coated the frames and after 10 years it was also quite rusty too.

I'd hastily drilled out the thread and used a problem solver adaptor, which in fairness lasted a couple of years but I would always have to run a 9 speed cassette as an 8 speed and the gearing would never index properly, so always had to run it in friction mode.

It was the height of the bike shortage and bikes shops being super busy in the pandemic- so at the time it was quicker (and probably a similar price) to order a new frame than to get it repaired and resprayed.. that's how I justified it anyway.

I still have this frame hanging up.

I think you're probably right. Managed to ride my first Trucker frame to death and I possibly managed to pick up one of the last ones available new.

    Temporarily withdrawing this from sale..

New framset was bought on impulse (didn't really need it, but it was a good price 🤦) and I can't see me getting around to building it up until next spring at best.

So, the Trucker will continue to be used as my trusty commuter.

Something I couldn't find online before I bought them was 650b PDW's fitted on a Trucker. So, at least there's a picture of it now for anyone considering it.

    The bargain I didn't really need 👇

Thanks - I'll keep it in mind. If it ends up on eBay then I was going to put the basics SKS guards back on instead.

I know this is a London Centric based forum but thought I'd try on here before eBay. Ideally looking for collection from Stoke-on-Trent.

Not sure how to price up a 26" wheel world tourer in 2024 - how about £400

Bought a new frame to build up, so sadly, something has got to go.

My second LHT (great workhorses). Frame was bought from Spa in 2020 and I built it up from there. It's been well maintained by me (a serial bike tinkerer). A couple of 'scuffs' from a frame bag along the top tube, but otherwise excellent condition. I'm 172cm for reference.

    Cane Creek 40 Headset.

9 speed drivetrain (Dura Ace Bar End Shifters - Tiagra Front Mech - Sora Rear Mech).

Spa Chainset - 28-38-48 (new last April).

    11-32 Shimano Cassette (new 25.9.2024)

Sram PC951 chain (new 25.9.2024) Chain was stripped of factory grease and then waxed with Silca hot wax...I'll even freshly wax it for you again.

Mavic rims on XT hubs (both true - however rear rim is beginning to wear now).

XT V-brakes (plenty of life in the pads).

PDW 650b Metal Fenders - work perfecty with 26" wheels (can squeeze 2" tyres under too with some minor adjustment)

Continental Travel Contact 1.75" tyres ( new last November).

    Salsa Cowbell Bars - 42cm

Brooks saddle not included (can offer a basic Specialized if needed) Bell, pedals and Wahoo mount also not included

Managed to swap the running shoes for riding shoes for the first time in a few months..

Enjoyable ride and a sense that spring isn't too far away... finally.

Bought this frame only ten years ago this month I think.
