Here we have a @1975 Ken Bird racing Tandem. It has been fully restored and is in fantastic rideable condition.
Frame and fork stripped and powder coated. All bearings replaced with new.
TA cranks with elliptical bottom bracket on front. 4 New pedals and chains replaced. Upgraded to a 5 speed freehub.
New gear and brake cables inners and outers. Mafac centre pull brakes with new brake blocks and lever hoods. New period leather saddles and handlebar tape.
Campag front draileuir and bar end shifters.
Rear wheel has campag hub and is double laced wired and soldered. Front wheel rebuilt around original campag hub and double laced and wired by Gavin at August Cycles. New tubes and schwalbe tyres.
New SKS raceblade clip on mudguards.
All new stickers sourced from H Lloyd (they cost £60.00) but all copies of the original - see photo
This is a fantastic bike and rides beautifully. I really don’t want to sell it but recent events means it has to go. There is a photo of one of these being time trialled and I believe it held the London to Brighton to London TT time.
Any further information please let me know.
Need to sell no space or tandem partner!! - no time wasters please.
