Got some heated grips yesterday after them getting lost in the post, got them fitted up and harness routed before the plastic connectors immediately fell off and shorted. Had already glued the grips so can’t even return them.
All crimped up now so probably more secure then they would have been normally but probably the highest frustration to complexity ratio I’ve had from any bike tinkering.

It’s a tubed rim so hopefully the valve shouldn’t be an issue, probably worth waiting til after the 600 mile round trip I have next week though

Shopping for new tyres, are you able to run tubeless tyres with a tube like you would on a pushbike? Or are there other issues besides it potentially being harder to fit and seat?

Passed my Mod 2 yesterday, was over in the blink of an eye and surprisingly easy, realised that a lot of my anxieties were a result of the constant chat from an instructor, on a nice quiet ride with the examiner I had all the time in the world to think what I was doing. Hopefully picking up a Transalp 600 next week.

Thanks for bike recs the other day, looks like it’s either a Transalp or Himalayan! Will see if any dealers round me have anything available to test ride when the time comes.
In other news, passed my Mod1 this morning! 2 minors for a stall on the emergency stop and 1kph under on the swerve. Just got 18 months of bad habits from the 125 to get rid of before Mod2.

I’ve got 30mm exposures on a CAAD10, fine until it gets muddy

Can anyone offer some recommendations for a first “big” bike. Got my DAS booked in over the next month or two, and figured now was a good time to set up some eBay saved searches.
    Main criteria are -
Sub 750cc (no interest in going particularly fast and I enjoy the 80+ mpg of the 125)
    Ideally around the £2k-£2.5k mark.
Suitable for the potholed gravelly Cumbrian roads I ride on.
Simple enough to service and troubleshoot without an electrical engineering degree.
    TIA

I very nearly re-bought that off of you when I saw it pop up, can’t believe it went so cheap!

In need of a tool to remove a spiderring, I believe it's the same for all versions but if not it's for an SI crank.

Also in the market for a 46/30 spiderring.
