  Hi, I am putting together my first fixie and am after advice on chain. My plan is to go 48 - 19 for starters and swap to 17 after a few weeks, if all goes well. It would appear that the KMC710 at 100 links is too short for that, so I am running 42 - 19 at the moment, very spinny. I like this chain, it seems hefty with tall plates, is there another similar chain available at 110 or 114 links? It would seem that KMC810 Kool is also only 100 links.

  Would KMC x101 be as good? I am not particularly fussed about weight or hollow pins etc if it compromises durability or gathers more dirt.

  Holy macarons, this is precisely the bike i am putting together! Complete with Hylex, Thomson and D-Light spokes, except it will be a fixie with surly hub. Uncanny.

  Is there a way to attach a bulky container to a rear rack? At the moment i am using Osprey Transporter 65L on my back, but, after recently trying out panniers, i started liking not wearing backpack in the rain. It is not heavy, about 10 kg, but bulky.

  Looking for a new or mint or in good condition 48t chainring for a fixie. Will consider compatible rings of good make and in good order.

  Can confirm cranks arriving in a safe and speedy fashion, well packaged!
  Found some 7700 non track BBs online, but they might have compromised on durability when designing for lower weight, so 5500 it is.
