I've been grilling Deliveroo press office, they claim:
They give a practical training session and a theory session for all riders, conducted by riders with Bike Ability training from the council
They have supervisors conducting spot checks (but refused to say how many)
The average rider makes 2 deliveries an hour (meaning in London you earn £7 basic + £2 for the deliveries + any tips per hour)
Riders only work in a 2.2km zone during a shift, designed so that they dont have to cycle too fast
They offer discounts on courier insurance for their cyclists through partnerships with insurance companies, but claimed they definitely don't take kickbacks/finders fees on those
Cyclists get discounts of "up to 10%" from certain bike shops
Can any former/current riders tell me if these are true or not?
