  • Join thousands of women around the world to ride 100km.
Or join a handful of jackasses to ride 100 miles.

Two rides* will take off from Lee Valley Ice Center,
heading out North East featuring some very lovely Essex Lanes,
coffee stops and awesome general friendliness.
The routes are both packed of lovely lanes and beautiful scenery,
but getting out and back in London is always a bit less amazing.

The two rides will stick together till about Km 50 - where we will have a nice re-fuel stop.
We will then split, meeting again about 30km from the end OR at the PUB for celebratory beers/crisps and stretching. It will be fun, come.

Both routes are fixed-friendly but feature a few drags and a couple of bigger bumps.
I'd recommend to not take your track racing ratio.
Personally, I'll be riding my road bike with all of the gears.

Meet at 8:30, leave at 9:00 sharp.

Social paced, this ride will average around 20-22km/h (13 miles/h). No drop.

    100 miles loop

This one will be slightly more hammered down, especially after splitting up after the first stop.
Expect about 25-27km/h (15-16miles/h). No drop either.
We will have a second stop at the Blue Egg for more serious refuel.

    Please,
Bring plenty of water/snacks to keep you going during the day.
Be self sufficient in terms of spares, puncture repair kits, pumps, tools etc.
Of course, we'll help each other out in case of problems.
Ride a bike you know and which is in good working order.
Take shit loads of photos and make good jokes.

  • I would love to do the 100 miles but am fairly/heavily confident my mph/kph is a lot slower than the projected.

I have ridden both the 100k and 100m routes in the recce stages and both are awesome! This will be a great, sign up now!!

    (sorry for bailing)

  • Hi, can I pass this onto the ladies in Lea Valley CC

  • Right ho, I shall pass this on. I ll tell them to mention Peter Carter.

This will be confusing as it's my forum name....

  • I may now be out for this - sorry

  • On no, that's a shame. But No worries.
@Cazakstan enjoy your camping, send us a postcard and we'll think of you when eating cake at the Blue Egg

  • This is getting close and I'm becoming more and more excited.
We are in official business too.

  • Yay! I'm really looking forward to the ride on Sunday but at the same time a little bit worried how I'll keep up with you all on my clunky old singlespeed (and poor physique) as it's been a while since I've done a longer ride. :)

  • Gulp. Shit just got real!

    eskimojudi - don't worry. You'll be fine.

  • you will be super fine, and everyone will stick together anyways.

  • Awwh, thanks! I'm sure it'll be fun.

  • Good luck with this @Ecunard and everyone else involved.

I'd be well up for this if it wasn't the last day of the tour (and I have a ver boozy day planned for sat!)

Would anyone be up for doing the shorter loop in a couple of weekend's time (if you don't mind us nicking it @Ecunard !)

  • Oh yes please do steal @pootsmanuva !

It looks like we're going to have some fine summer weather for this... ᕳ๏╭╮๏ᕲ

  • Stoopid rain. Bet it's patchy, the sun will come out for you!

  • There be mudguards in my future. Rain jacket etc, too. Hopefully we won't get as soaked as we did last year.

  • Yeah think I'm going to get the winter bike out of hibernation MEH

  • Somewhat ill today... Will have to see how I feel on Sunday :/
