Need to do a grand slam in a day, obviously.

Wild and wacky suggestions in the meantime to tide us over, please.
1kg of cocaine on a silver tray, carried around the party by a body-building midget.
"Say hello to my little friend!"

Would the Forum really cycle out to Ealing?
-
• #5
bangface looks good we should all go there
-

It’s been done before... (for the 10 year anniversary)

The 10-year anniversary GSIAD took in the original Wests venue, the Stonemason's Arms in Hammersmith.
There are by now many, many options as to where to go--so many pubs that eventually got sick and tired of the forum turning up for drinks. :)

Ha, that’ll teach me to bail before the west drinks 😂
-

Yes, that video suggested it's the perfect venue for earnest discussions of dedicated cycling infrastructure, or updates on spiling and natural flood management from the Glory that is Ruislip.

What was the starting point for the 10th anniversary GSIAD?

• #11
1kg of cocaine on a hardback copy of the LFGSS book, carried around the party by a body-building midget.
"Say hello to my little friend!"
Yes.

The Trinity Arms, original (well, not for very long) Souths venue.

Great idea Oliver
It could equal murtles leaving London drinks at the greyhound.
With less leather goods -
• #14
Great idea @Oliver Schick.
It also needs to be a ride for us slow fat people who haven’t moved their backside in weeks, so we can burn the weeks of self-indulgence away. -
• #15
Can someone set up gsiad on zwift?
I’ll attend via zoom
-
• #16
Please, none of that virtual shit in this thread. :)
Be there or be square.

Couldn't do a GSIAD in 2020 without ending up in the hospital or a cell.
Pick a pub with a nice sunny garden, I can meet you there.
Wonder if we can get a good old fashioned bike pile going.

Great idea Oliver!
Maybe we just do some central beers somewhere and make it weasy for veryine to turn up? GSIAD might be a bit much for some peeps (fitness/time constraints/children).
-
• #20
What about Smithfields? Perhaps near where LFGSS used to congregate during the Nocturnes.

• #21
If it's still summer by then how about just going to a park and having beer +BBQ?
-
• #22
More likely to be next summer, but yeah good suggestion

The reason why I've put the July date there, by the way, is not because I expect the crisis to be over by then, but because the date mechanism for some reason wouldn't accept 'TBD', don't know why. Expect it to be revised backwards. Well, with any luck it'll all take less long than feared at the moment, but who knows. Glad so many people are on board, needs to be a proper blow-out.
GSIAD and party in one day are perfectly feasible for those who want to do both--we did them for the 10th anniversary. Do either or both, depending on your politics. I was thinking more about the party myself.

But I’ve been working on my interpretive dance game
I don't know when and where, but I want to see everyone when this is over. Need something to look forward to.
Wild and wacky suggestions in the meantime to tide us over, please.
Keep safe until then, everyone.
