Hemel Hempstead - magic roundabout optional

I've never done this one so I want to try it. 31 miles and some hills in lovely Hertfordshire.

Hemel Hempstead features a magic roundabout not far from the station, but not on the route. Though I'm sure a spin could be arranged if people were up for it.

Trains out 1905 from Euston, arrives at 1936.

Returns throughout the evening, last train 0025.

The return ticket is £14.6 so a big enough crowd for a groupsave would be great!

Ah not the magic roundabout - although very cool idea as I'd only do that at gone 11pm. Historically this route was called Hemel Fix It, after Jimmy Saville's TV programme. This was obviously before the public knew about his horrendous crimes.

After typing that out yes the route should definitely leave its old name behind.

The route was originally titled "Hemel-fix-it" which at the time seemed to be a fun and charming nod to an old childhood favourite off of the telly.

The temptation to ride from the Old Street 'magic roundabout' to the Hemel magic roundabout is strong but, fuck ever cycling west outta London in rush hour traffic.

Outside the ticket office is probably the best place to meet. It's on the left as you enter the concourse.

Yep today is not my day. Might attempt some RP circles but my brain is too fried to be riding at night, I need to be in bed early.
