Fantastic list! Yes to ride out. Bringing gears.
Edit: I’ve only ever found myself having to climb over fences, doubling back on myself or scrummaging through undergrowth on the ride out to effingham junction. If anyone has a good route out, it’d be appreciated.
Edit edit: YAL has one.

Sweet, meet under the clock at Waterloo, I shall be wearing a pink carnation in my lapel and carrying a copy of War and Peace, the passphrase is "the badgers are flying south early this year".

Umming and ahhring over riding out. Lovely evening with a tail wind vs quite a long way and I'm already on edge with me knee. Will let you all know.

Ride will be plenty gentle enough, especially as all you gearedy-weirdys will have to wait for me at the top of each hill, and the bottom of each hill, and the end of each flat, and to leave the pub...

Looking forward to this. Surprisingly chilly out there for such a nice day.

I'm riding out. If I get there in time, might stop for a shandy at the Plough just past Cobham.

My entire body aches, cracking ride but I feel damaged. Damaged in a good way but still damaged.

I think this is maybe the most tired I've felt after a TNRC. I am absolutely worthless at work today. But agreed, absolutely amazing ride, what an evening for it. My apologies to @jaeyukdapbap for taking you a terrible way out of town and then eating your food. I was a true chopper last night

Yep, was lovely. That third picture is the one I'll remember. Beautiful evening to be out in the hills.
I feel surprisingly good today. I blame the freewheel. Need to sort my knee so I can ruin myself again in a few weeks.

I love watching the year progress through these rides. Compare and contrast from this year May 17 to last year June 15 and the difference in the amount of light!
Dan, I’ll give you a soggy pitta anytime you’re in need. #whathappensontherideoutstaysontherideout

That's amazing, same spot, same configuration, I'm even wearing the same jersey.
the difference in the amount of light!
Or did we ride faster that time?

I think that must've been taken during that second lap that we definitely did, surely?

that second lap that we definitely didHmm.. I'd wager this 'ride' never actually happened and you spent the evening wrestling in the beer garden. Amirite?

Bang to rights. Clearly Dan just messed around this the brightness and contrast to make that "new" picture of the Box Hill ascent.

Shame I missed this. Down for a Surrey ride. Any people local to Effingham / Surrey hills?

Hey josh. There is group of us that ride every other Thursday night during the lighter months. The rides are based on getting a train out from London after 7pm to a station around 30 mins away to then do a 30 to 40 mile loop before a pint and the train back to town. Some ride out, some ride back too.
There are a few Surrey loops that start from effingham. It's also our traditional season starter and ender. We should be back there in two weeks time as it's the penultimate ride tomorrow night (roydon in Essex tho...)
You'd be more than welcome. It's notionaly a fixed ride, but gears are fine provided you don't smash it about. Read the rules in the ThNRC sub forum.
Anyway, keep your eyes peeled for a ride going up on the forum in a couple of weeks if you fancy 30 miles in the dark with internet strangers.
34 miles with ups and downs.
Tomorrow! This is tomorrow people!
