brill - this looks like the BMMF Chilterns lap to me, feat. beaucoup beacons, :-)
(will aim to be there with a new SS build)

No, different route.

• #4
Ha. Anyway, in!
-
• #5

forecast quite good for this.

I picked up a cold over the weekend and while I'm mostly over it I have been left with a proper chesty cough/possible chest infection. Not wanting to risk turning it into pneumonia I think it very unlikely I will now make this.

Bummer. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Looks like we have some Garminators along but I'll stick the route on mine as well. It looks like you'll have to be the voice in our heads for this ride MoN.

(will try M&S and Waitrose Mini on Tottenham Court Road! - see if they taste any differently for the extra £s!)

We could wait for you to be back on form, and ride something else this week.

Cheers but no need to shift plans unless you all really want to.
I was thinking to put in an ad-hoc off week ride next week as I'm on holiday the week after and will need my fix before I go.

As MoN can't rodeo the train people, can I make a list of who to look out for at Euston? 19.05 for the train.

yup, will be there in time for a hopeful GroupSave ticket, so one more person needed.. :-)
the 19.05 is our first off-peak train, but hopefully they'll still be plenty of daylight at our destination, without those London tower-blocks getting in the way of things!
19:05 London Euston [EUS]
19:37 Hemel Hempstead [HML]

got the fig rolls.. went with the Sainsburys, which proudly bears on the otherwise barebones packaging, "made with sustainable palm oil", :-)

• #17
might have to leave the own-brands behind for the next edition, to seek this stuff out..
-
• #18
I'm training this one. See you at Euston from around half 6 onwards I guess
-
• #19
nice, i'll be heading over there soonish, having had enough of the screen for one day!
-
• #20
Euston's pretty big and cluttered these days, probably want to agree a meeting spot, like by the ticket office.
-
• #21
Have fun, loons. Wish I was there.

• #23
I'm fighting a puncture repair. Dunno if I can make it in time
-
• #24
The line is too long for a GS anyway so I'm using my network railcard

Nope. Is a lost cause. This one just doesn't want to be patched. Looks like I'm taking a different train tonight
Hemel Hempsted
(Hemell not fix it anymore)
One of our lesser used routes so some navigational help might be handy.
31 miles of rolling countryside some short sharp ramps and at least one longish grind is more than off set by a descent of the (almost) aptly name Ped(a)ly Hill which will have those sensible enough to ride this fixed grinning like loons.
Train out of Euston at 19.05 arrives Hemel at 19.37
Return trains at 22:25, 22:37, 22:51, 23:47 and last at 00:25
