I didn't say they couldn't come riding with us, but they should probably remain dressed as it gets cold in December.

Amazing idea for a stag and the Grand Slam is my very most favourite of forum rides. In!
-
• #12
Congratulations. A great idea.

Update to the first post... yes the ride is open to all, and no we don't have a wedding list and no-one is obliged to get us anything but John Lewis gift cards if people really insist.

This starts at Charing Cross right?

I just heard about this via Mr. Schick last night. Congrats to you both!
Will hopefully try and join in at some point during the day although it is the day after my work xmas party - so not sure what state I'll be in :/ -

I'm in for the early etapes.
I recommend the current SEs weekly venue - CyclePitStop in Camberwell. The staff are on here and they stock nice local beers (bottled) and you can take bikes indoors. It's also more central than Royal Albert, so would be good for anyone northern who missed the first pub. However I was always a fan of the Albert too.

Good spot, I missed that. Yes, it should certainly be CyclePS right now. They're also a Canopy Beers stockist, which recommends them even more in my eyes.

Going to be a cold one. Better start with whiskey to warm up...

Actually scratch that, I've got too much to do. Will go to SE's and play pool with my nipper, see you there.

That assumes the route is updated to stop at the current SE venue, though. It´s been suggested but had no answer ;)

From the OP:
Venues will be revised according to whatever people from each compass point feel is the best venue. The above is the old list, but provides vague timings.
I'm getting married December 18th, and the tight purse strings mean a very small wedding and no chance of inviting lots of people... so I (meaning Felicity) figured:
Why not have a cycling stag do?
Which would mostly be in the form of seeing lots of people I think are ace, having a drink with them, and riding around London on bikes.
Which sounds like...
Grand Slam In A Day
From the previous thread:
Venues will be revised according to whatever people from each compass point feel is the best venue. The above is the old list, but provides vague timings.
A vague route to give an indication of mileage and time on bike
I'm not looking to get absolutely smashed and kill myself before the wedding... so I'm not going to be drinking shots everywhere... and no strippers or anything vulgar... just drinks, with some good people, and some riding between the drinks.
It will be dark, it may be wet, the streets will be mayhem, it will be a blast.
Who's in?
UPDATE
Yes, the ride is open to everyone. It's not a private party and you don't need to know me to come along. It's just a ride, I happen to be using it to enjoy celebratory drinks with friends. You're free to enjoy the drinking and riding irrespective of the celebrations that will roll with the ride.
No, we do not have a wedding list - the virtue of having no family at a very small wedding. The offers are kind, and if you insist then John Lewis gift cards are the best thing. We hope to buy new pots and pans, and perhaps some other things for the kitchen, the gift cards will go towards those things.
