  • Well the time has come not without regret but better to quit on the top after seven and a half years and over 80 shows. This will be the last Hackney Bicycle Film Society film show. Our films for the night will be two classic cycling documentaries The Impossible Hour and Vive the Tour plus the usual selection of bicycle shorts.

It would be great to see the many faces we have seen over the years so if you can make it you will be most welcome.

The Impossible Hour is a concentrated study of Ole Ritter's attempt in Mexico City in 1974 to set a new record for the hour - described in the film as "the noblest, most difficult record that can be set on a bicycle".

Vive le Tour, Louis Malle presents his energetic evocation of the Tour de France.
