If this does go ahead on the 30th, is there anyone I could borrow a bike from? I don't think lugging either of my mtbs with me on my Christmas travels is going to be practical...

That could work, have an hour between getting the train to Stratford and the next train from London Bridge on our way down to Sussex, if you could collect a bike, maybe not enough time to drop it off at yours and walk back to the station though. Shall muse 'pon it
