The Bikeminded Film Club is back for a third year! It will be held in the unique art-decó lecture theatre at the Kensington Central Library, a cosy venue to watch cycling-themed films during the autumn and winter. There will be a screening the last Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm from October 2014 to April 2015, except for November (which is on a Friday) and obviously December. Did we mention that entrance is free?
The second screening of the film club will be the inspiring documentary film Ride the Divide, a journey about the world’s toughest mountain bike race that traverses over 2700 miles along the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains.
The film weaves the story of three characters’ experiences with immense mountain beauty and small-town culture as they attempt to pedal from Canada) to the Mexican border. They will experience mental breakdowns, treacherous snow, hellacious blisters and total fatigue. Above all, they will race with no support – at times in total isolation. The tests of endurance and the accomplished moments throughout Ride The Divide prompt us to reflect on our inner desires to live life to the fullest.
