ILIAD Six

The sixth iteration of the EPIC:

"ITS LONDON IN A DAY"
(AKA - N/E/S Whatever - Big City Circle)

An off-road and traffic-free adventure taking in all points of the city's compass.

Fun, fast, but social ; liable to get messy.

Unsupported, but never far from public transport/bail points.

TIMINGS:
-09:00 Achilles Statue Hyde Park

-11:30 Old Ship Hammersmith
(Start of 23c-friendly section - before this mud and gravel tracks)

-13:30 Prince Regent Brixton

After that possibly too wasted to promise to be anywhere at any time, or wait for you once we get there.

Probably swing by The Angel(Rotherhithe), Peoples Tavern On The Park and The Flask at some point in the afternoon.

126KMs, mostly traffic-free (Rivers, Canals, Greenways, Parks, Trails, Quiet Streets), backloaded with some hills.

Stopping at:
Pubs
Off-licences
Cafes
People's houses

UNTIL THE CIRCLE IS CLOSED OR SOMEONE PASSES OUT..

courier time ... i.e usually within an hour of the agreed time

Forum clock always screws up..

For bigger tyres and earlier birds start time is 09:00 at Achilles in Hyde Park.

For 23c tarts it is Old Ship at 11:30.

Finish time is anyones guess..

I will certainly join at the 23c friendly start.

I think a lot of people would prefer to get out of bed later!

Yep it was along those lines but my number one illustrator ( @KRZ ) has been super busy.

So I got my number two on the case (10 year old daughter - her first commercial brief).

Will scan it in tomorrow.

Weather looking ok, maybe iffy for the early section.

23c section from 11:30 looking fine.

Made some adjustments, route is only 126KM now.

Pfffftt..

Forgot to mention, this is the only ride of mine with pub stops..

Seeing as I'm unlikely to get to bed till about 2, think it's unlikely I'll made hyde pk at 9am. Shame as the west bit is my fave. May tag along later. If not, happy trails...
