  • There's a new, huge climbing wall in Burnt Oak, up in North West London. I helped build it and I want everyone to come and climb on it. If you have membership of the Arch Climbing Wall, your membership covers the new centre.

We start at the old place, the biscuit factory in Bermondsey at 10am. You might want to have quick a climb, or just a coffee. We set off as soon as everyone has finished climbing or drinking coffee. I'm open to the general consensus on this.

We ride north over Tower bridge, up the Kingsland road, then east down church street to the Holloway road. From there we go north, up the hill to hampstead heath, then north again through Golders Green and on to Burnt Oak. We might stop to pick up anyone who wants to join the ride further north, maybe at Look Mum No Hands? Let me know here. I'll pm my number to anyone who wants to come. Bring yr freinds :)

Regarding the ride, I'll be waiting at red lights, and generally trying not to piss everyone off / drop people in the group. It being a Sunday hopefully the roads won't be too busy.

I'll be riding fixed. But ride whatever. Ride your Sunday Bike if you have one then I can look at it and say oooh.

  • Just realised the council have not yet installed bike racks outside for us yet, so maybe don't bring your most expensive bike. Locking at the burnt oak end will be to whatever we can find on the street.

  • I'm up for a double climb (may be £££ cause I'm not a member but why not)

  • In. Probably won't climb in Bermondsey

  • Ok, Come at 10 am if you want to climb, come at 10.30 if you just want a coffee, we leave at 10.45.

  • I may meet you en route as I'm in Stoke Newington.

  • Cool, I estimate we will be passing the corner of Stoke Newington Church street and Stoke Newington High street at 11.15.

  • Regarding locking up at Arch North, there's some narrow trees outside, but that's it. Small d-locks may not fit. On the plus side, the whole side of the building is glass, so you can keep half an eye on your bike. Plus we can double up on locks if needs be.

  • sounds very interesting! i climb a few times a week at the biscuit factory arch in the early morning. would be nice to meet some lfgss climbers!

  • Would be great to have you along, the more the merrier. It's a bit quiet up north at the moment. The new center is huge and more varied than the biscuit.

  • argh forgot I was busy from 12:00 onwards - I shall see you guys for the morning climb only!

  • I've just been reminded that it's a friend's birthday do the night before. If I can remember who I am, I'll be in touch on the day. Knowing them we probably won't have seen home yet.

  • i might join with a few friends maybe 2 or 3 in total, sounds fun though.

  • Great, see you on Sunday :)

  • @well_is_it @JT @OneLessCardigan @Thoma @user58337 @platypus @Drakien @Ced

Who's in for tomorrow? would be good to have numbers so we don't leave anyone behind :)

10am for coffee / climb, leaving 10.45 from the biscuit factory, Bermondsey, I will be wearing a Brixton cycles jersey. see you then

  • I'm out sorry, I really wanted to be there :(

  • I'm going to check here again in the morning, if there's no response, it's off. Unfortunately I took a nasty knock to the knee today so it would probably be the sensible thing to rest it.

However, anyone still interested and I'll definitely come, the pace of the ride might be quite gentle though :)

  • I'm still in. I'll be at the wall at 10:15.

  • Cool see you there, it's still on!

  • @winnifred1849 damn! weirdly my notifications were turned off. sorry for radio silence!

I'm still going to climb at the arch this arvo but cant make the cycle. got a fair bit of work to get through. NEXT TIME!

    :(

  • I'm going at 1:30!

  • We've decided to move house so I'm going to spend my day packing.

I know what I'd rather be doing.

  • No worries, hope you had a good climb. Drakien and I got to Arch North for about midday, and climbed for two or three hours.

@Drakien btw I nailed that red on the arette in the end :)

I may attempt to herd some LFGSS cats for another ride at some point. The long ride north is more fun with company.

  • good to hear! my hands are in tatters, a month off has ruined me!

  • btw I nailed that red on the arette in the end :)

Wickeeeeed. Thanks for organising, it was a fund ride & climb.
