Cromega Alpinestars Cargo/Cycletruck

  • Built this up a few years ago in a phase of madness. Ridden it a while, then cargenstein came into the picture, partner rode this for a while as well, and then…lights out.

It’s been used what, twice over the past year? Once to get a service at work, and the other to see if it wheelies. It does.

It’ll be sad to see it go, as I have so many great memories with it, but every time I look at it, the layer of dust gets thicker.

Alpinestars Cromega frame - BEHOLD THOSE ROWDY STAYS! Dunno side. It’s an old MTB, it’s long-ish. I’m 5”10 if that works for you.

Forks are custom made by our forum genius @M_V built like a tank, with a silly awesome splatter paint job.

Wheels are custom. Halo Sub on SP8 Dynamo. Rear is a super rare DMR Ceramic rim on a Hope Pro 3. Disc front, rim brake on rear. Freshhhh Billy bonkers.

Braking is Shimano hydro front on Ultegra rotor, and here’s the kicker, Hydro rim on rear. Yeah that’s right.

Stem is some fancy machined BMX stem with some moto bars. Seat clamp is Hope. Seatpost I dunno. Pedals are Shimano Saint.

Drivetrain is a total mish mash. DA friction shifter on a Paul components bracket, to an XTR derailleur and 11 speed XT cassette and chain.
Crankset is a polished Race Face with a 42t TA chainring. You have all the gears all of the time.

Dynamo is a mix of B&M and AXA lighting. Two saddles included.

It’s a nippy ride and silly fun to Bob and weave through town on. I’ve carried some silly stuff on it.

    It’s now been cleaned up.

£650, and let me know if I’m off.

  • Very cool indeed

  • Dibs framebag

  • Oh that’s proper good! If only I had £650 and lived closer. GLWS

  • Love those frames. It would be great for me for a runaround with a regular fork. Alas, I do not need a mini cargo bike, notwithstanding a lack of spare 650 squid.

  • 650 squids ain’t your problem. It’s those things you call limbs! You’ll need a couple of broom handles to extend it all.

@Qebrus thanks. It’ll be hard to let it go, but I hate hoarding even more.
