What’s more valuable to you, the frame or the headset?

Drift it out from the outside? Drift in nice and close to the frame, work around as much of the cup as you can to keep it straight.

If there's enough of a lip on the cup, I'd sack off the prong tool and use a flathead and gently work your way round until it comes out. A flathead with a bent tip can be surprisingly effective

Hey All,
Currently struggling to remove headset cups from a 1 inch headset and a 46cm frame with a short headtube.
Think because the tube is so short the "prongs" (not the correct word) don't stretch back out after going through the upper cup so are not gripping the lower cups and just go straight through.
Using the Park Tools Remover for reference.
Have tried inserting a socket set bit to try to stretch out prongs and hold in place however didn't have any luck.
Well aware I've worded this particularly badly so any advice would be much appreciated.
