Independent Fabrications Steel Deluxe Single Speed MTB

  • Hey!

Picked this up just a few months ago off ere'. Absolutely lovely bike aesthetically, and structurally. Great fun to ride, and feels great on the tracks and trails as you'd expect from the quality of Independent Fabrications.

Unfortunately though, after a few ride (one 20 miles around New Forest, other 15 miles around South Downs) its not great for my poorly back with all the out the saddle etc required, so I'm going to move this along and go back to the safety of pootling up hills with lovely gears. Gutted about this, but not much point having a bike I can't really ride very far.

Condition wise, as per the original listing (below) its used, so has a few paint chips etc, but no structural damage, no rusting etc, looks nice and clean inside the seat tube. (rest of the tubes are sealed i believe).

The original listing is here, which has the geo, and a few other photos and details : https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/390676/

Since i've picked it up, I've made the below changes :

    • Swapped over to a Salsa Firestarter 29er Rigid steel fork
    • Put on a new Cane Creek 40 Headset
    • Put on some new Shimano Hydro brakes
    • Put on a new set of Racing Ray Evo tyres (tubed)
    • Pair of RaceFace Chester pedals (not new)
    • Put on a new set of Death Grips
    • Put on a new Salsa QR Seat Clamp for easy up/down saddle

Also included in the sale are the original Reba Forks, the original Avid BB7 brakes and levers, and the OG grips. Otherwise it's as it arrived (Thomson Seat Post / Stem, Fabric saddle, Easton bars, American Classic Wheelset, Middleburn cranks with 32t chainring, fancy gold chain).

I'm 6ft exactly, longer legged / shorter body and ride as pictured. Scope for either way though with a lower saddle / shorter stem etc etc.

Sad to see this go, especially after such little use, but as above, can't really justify when I can use the sale cash to get a geared mtb.

Collection wise, I'm down near Portsmouth, but can meet in Portsmouth / Petersfield / Guildford in evenings and weekends, or Southampton on a work day if easier.

Price wise, looking for about £1250 with the added fork etc.

Any questions etc, just shout! Will be sad to see it go, but should be out there being ridden, such a nice bike.
