Witslingers frame and bar bag by @Tijmen

There is an Apidura bladder in the frame bag and the hose then routes out behind the head tube, wraps round the bar, back along the top tube, does a 180 and then comes back to the bars where the valve attaches via magnet to a clip that sits on the strap for the bar bag.

I've tried using a magnet on the top tube/where the hose 180's to take up the slack but whilst that kind of works it's very annoying.

Next on the list is a retractable lanyard - the type of thing that you put your building pass on.

  • What's the reason for such a long hose length?

  • So I can drink whilst riding along- needs to be that length or I have to bend down.

  • Perish the thought of reaching for a water bottle ;)

  • That does seem like a veeeery long hose. Any chance of a pic with you on the bike using it?

  • Perish the thought of reaching for a water bottle ;)

I usually bring a water bottle up to my mouth ratter than nuzzling my face inside the front triangle like a suckling calf, but I'm open to seeing new techniques.

  • You must have the lugs of a god to suck water through so much hose.

  • Why not get one of those camelbacks? Put snacks in yo frame bag

  • Water goes in bottle
    Bottle goes in framebag
    No problemo

  • I think that hose might have more water carrying capacity than the bladder

  • 32 degrees, 80% humidity.

  • A 3l bottle is not going to be tremendously easy to get in and out with one hand, off-road, nor that easy to drink from, I suspect.

  • I would probably reduce that hose length by 50% and tuck it in between the bars and the handlebar bag / attach it to the handlebar bag. Yes, it'll include a bit of bending down but you'd avoid this challenge altogether.

The current setup will interfere with your knees whilst pedalling which would bother me tremendously.

Another negative is the risk of the hose snagging something on the trail.

  • am amazed no one has mentioned "big... hoser"

  • “You must have the lugs of a god to suck water through so much hose.”(sic)

    Carry on LFGSS

  • Where’s the fun in that? My knees don’t hit the hose- spent a good few hours pedalling around on Monday and the only thing that was annoying was having to clip the magnet at the hose 180 point back into place every time.

  • Can you not set up some kind of pressurised water dispenser in the bar bag that squirts a jet of water in the approximate direction of your mouth every time you press a button on the handlebar?

  • I’ve set my sights too low it is clear

  • I just wrap my hose around the front of the bike and if I'm not using it I can push it back into the framebag (#oboohnurse). Sometimes I may lean forward more to drink from it, sometimes less, depending on what I've wrapped it around but luckily I have hips and these hips don't lie.

Oh, it has a magnet at the end and I've put the other magnet on the feedbag which helps hold it down when riding.

  • Route hose out of rear of framebag > up shorts > out of neck hole > done

    Internal routing ftw

  • There must be a specialist website for this kind of thing…
