Moots Vamoots CR frame, Enve fork - 56cm - 2013

Posted on
  • Hey all,
Following on from my sale of a 54cm Vamoots a couple of months back, it’s time to list a 56cm frame.
I purchased this from a Velorution ‘new old’ stock sale earlier in the year. It had been built up but never ridden (at least not far) as a stock bike, and I’ve done the same - it’s literally been around the block.
Has been replaced by a new Moots Vamoots.
It’s a 2013 to best of my knowledge, standard 56cm. Rim brake, clears 25mm, probably not much more. Has the welded seat clamp, just before they went to a collar, which I always think is a nicer touch.
It came with a Columbus fork which I replaced with an Enve one I considered more fitting (shape) which was unused, boxed (second owner). Chris King red headset fitted. Straight 1&1/8 headset. 27.2 post. Threaded 68mm bb.
Currently built with 11-sp Campagnolo but I’m selling as frame and fork with headset. Will strip down as needed, or a buyer might want to inspect, sit on etc.
There are very, very minor marks from build and storage, but you can tell this hasn’t been ridden more than around the block.
Moots stem and seatpost not currently for sale.
It really is lovely condition and a buyer won’t be disappointed with the frame and fork finishes.
Bournemouth for inspection and collection or will consider posting at cost, insured.
Price is £1600 for frame, Enve fork and CK.
    More pictures to follow.

  • Reduced £1550.

  • Reduction to £1475, open to discussion.

As I’ve been asked … stack and reach the best I can (tape measure, spirit level etc). Measurements are centre bb to centre top of headtube, not including the upper headset cup.

The reach I’m pretty confident is 388mm to 390mm, this matches the Moots 56cm catalog reach 2015 (390 mm) when all other measurements and angles seem identical (2015 is the first time I can find Moots giving these measurements).

The stack, to the top of the headtube centre, is 570mm as best I can measure. This seems a bit less than the 2015 catalog which say 586mm but quote this as including a CK inset headset (possibly the ‘extra’ 16mm?). Obviously on top of my measurement you get a 20mm CK top cup and race. Confusingly, the 2015 catalog quotes a 44mm headtube, therefore inset race and slightly longer headtube to compensate, but the pictures show external headsets at 1&1/8”, so I’m sure the frames weren’t ready for the photoshoot.

I’ve been struggling to find time on a sunny day to get some photos, so here are some poor interior shots, but I think you can see the lack of marks/use on the frame. Perhaps one slight ‘nick’ on a sticker.

  • Why is this still here?? Deserves a bump. The (smaller) Moots I owned was not only a joy to ride but so precisely engineered that it was almost as much pleasure to build up and maintain.

  • Thanks for the bump. I’ll take £50 off by means of reply and as I know it’s the wrong time of year to sell!
    £1350
Agreed, the build quality is quite something. I wouldn’t be letting this go unless its replacement was already here, and I’ve gone for another Moots.
I travel to London for work occasionally, and can deliver f&f to Waterloo or Victoria by prior arrangement and cleared deposit (just to ensure it’s not a wasted journey!).

  • What’s your saddle height in the photos here? Thanks

  • Hi, I ride about 75cm saddle height, from centre bb to top of saddle.

  • £1300 now, if anyone has any cash after the flurry of ‘sale’ emails this weekend.

  • £1250
Will be in London at least a day per week over the next fortnight if delivery to Waterloo tempts anyone.

  • Replied…

  • still for sale? tnx!

  • Yes, still available

  • New year, new price. £1,200

  • If you would split the fork I’d be interested depending on steerer length
( from the looks of it it’s not a slammed setup)

  • Thanks for your message which I’ll bear in mind. For now I’d rather try to keep as a frame/fork/headset. Steerer is just about 250mm, for reference.

  • And…£1,150, a reminder that this is pretty much unridden.

  • And sold!
