WTD: another bike - commuter, flat bars, gears, not too expensive

Having seen my brilliant coup for No. 2 son's university bike No. 1 son has expressed an interest in one for commuting purposes.

Looking for something decent but not too pricy - say £200 ish? - flat bars, gears, etc.. Mudguards highly desirable.

Size L - so maybe 56-58 cm or thereabouts?

My son certainly didn't take it, he went for a flat bar option.
