• The opportunity has come up to convert my Berlingo into a dumb little camper, so I need to find some funds for it. This lovely nugget was built up carefully less than a year ago, and has been on a grand total of maybe four short rides. I’ll add a full spec list soon, but here’s a brief summary:

    1. Kona Unit frame and fork (started out life as the single speed version), medium (saddle 766mm from centre of cranks in these pics - I’m a leggy 5ft 10)
    2. Shimano Deore 11 speed groupset - the latest one with the massive 11-51 cassette out back
    3. Superstar V6 wheelset (boost)
    4. 3.0 Vittoria Cannoli tyres set up tubeless with Muc Off kit
    5. Ritchey Kyote bars, Ergon grips, stem cap GPS mount
    6. Will come with a rigid seat post but will also include a mildly dodgy dropper that has more play than I’d like, so not factored into the price
    7. Cane Creek 40 headset

It’s a lovely build and probs £2k ish on paper at full retail, but that obviously means shit all. Given the price of a new Unit X, I’d ideally like £975 >> £950 for it as is, but I know how these things go - talk to me. Based near Cardiff but will be likely driving up to Manchester next week. Cheers folks!

Edit: will also chuck in the original WTB wheelset and 2.6 Ranger (?) tyres. Would love to keep the saddle if possible.

  • These are fun rock solid bikes, glws!

  • Wow that's well nice. Looks like a decent bikepacking rig?

  • The opportunity has come up to convert my Berlingo into a dumb little camper

want to know more about this

  • @martbart87 yeah it's a proper bikepacking.com vibe setup, eh? which is probably why I don't ride it - clearly not cool enough

@amey been offered one of these secondhand: http://www.amdro.co.uk/boot-jump-camper-car/ . Will be recording the setup in the camper van thread

  • @trigs what's the frame size?

  • This is so good 👌 I'm look at older cheaper shitter Units but now I've seen this they just look old and shit. I really need to focus on the cheaper bit

  • Hah thanks! I’ve gone in very punchy with my pricing I know but I fully expect to be brought down a few notches here… if you lose sight of the whole cheaper thing give me a shout…

  • Ive got a 2019 unit and think it's been my favourite bike ever, use it for literally everything and just swap the tyres depending on what im doing.

One of these, 2 sets of tyres and you're good for pretty much anything! GLWS

  • Oh! You just reminded me - I still have the stock single speed wheelset, which will be included. Also comes with the stock WTB Ranger TCS 2.6 tyres, one of which is very stubbornly still on one of the wheels (tubed thankfully)… I gave up trying to remove it but someone else may do a better job. So a bike and a bonus wheelset - exactly what you suggested, so cheers for reminding me!

  • I wasn't saying its too expensive especially with the extra wheels and this must be the first time in my life I've said a bike is too nice but I'm going to stick a Hamax on it. A cheap 10 year old SS one would be fine but it also wouldn't be pink and shiny. These dilemmas
