• Got this track ti frame off here a few months back, got it built up and love it. Would like to get the suspect area repaired later this year and I’m just putting a post out now to try and field some offers or recommendations.
I’ve been told either to Ti tig weld it or get it sleeved. Please let me know your thoughts
    And even some quotes!

    Thanks
    Ross!

  • Enigma would be your best bet.

  • Will give them a call tomorrow
    Thanks!

  • What was the outcome of this? I've always been curious about the practicalities (and cost) of basic ti' repairs like these.

  • Sorry just saw this
Enigma quoted to cut the offending section off and do a kind of sleeving method for the seat clamp area, seems the original builders seat clamp design was a little strange having too many slits inside the area which forced a failure. I think only two or one is really required.
Quote was £370 for all the work, which considering enigmas level of work and the time and intricacies of such a repair, isn't too bad.

  • Pat from Limit Fabrications replaced a ti top tube for me on a Genesis mtb frame a few years ago, and was absolutely brilliant. The finish was top notch.
