Forum project donation: kuwahara retro mtb Bristol

I love this bike but I’ve let it go to waste a bit. Ridden it more than any other bike ever, but always tried to look after it. Saying that, it has a seized seatpost and the paintwork has seen a bike lock way too many times.

It will need new cables, grips, chain and cassette as a minimum to get it running but it’s free and there aren’t many out there that I’ve seen. Not a lot of info on the kuwahara mtbs but if you’re a fan of bmx or E.T. then this might interest you.

I will supply it w different bars/stem. Frame measures 18” which makes it a medium. I’m 5’9” and it’s set up for me. Dusty n rusty but some nice parts including:

• deore thumbies
  
• Deore levers and the best cantis out there
  
• Charge spoon saddle
  
• Deore LX mechs
  
• Relatively new but basic chainset, plastic bmx pedals.
  
• Mavic D521 / shimano rear wheel with new freehub 100miles ago (albeit those miles were a few years ago now!)
  
• Deore (lx?) front wheel. A bit worn.
  
• Marathon plus tyres
  
• No grips
  
• Different skewers to photos
