Wanted: Clip-on Aerobars

  • I fancy giving a few TTs a go, as well as improving my triathlon bike leg (and potentially helpful for some long-distance bike tours). Looking for clip-on bars with good adjustability and comfort. Tips/advice are welcome as well!

  • Get the most adjustable ones possible! I just bought some Zipp Vuka alumina evo. They come with 5,10,15 degree pad angle adjustment, and they have I think 4 different choices for bar shape. If you have the possibility then test the whole setup on an indoor bike before taking it outside. I bolted everything on in what looked / felt like it would work, but then committed to riding home from work on what turned out to be quite a dangerous setup...

  • I have a set of once used Vukas for sale as above, but no riser/angle kit.

I would love to switch them on to my Tri bike instead of the profile design I have but it's too much hassle...

Agreed with above that I wouldn't touch anything you can't get angle/spacers for (e.g. generic cheap Tri bars). The comfort difference a few cm makes is world's apart and you'll just end up with Vukas/PD/similar in the end anyway.

  • Brill thanks, that makes sense. It seems like it's possible to pick up riser/angle kits for the Zukas, have you had any trouble with that at all?

  • Riser kits are easy enough, wedge kits look harder to come by. Note that Zipp (and Profile) say that you can't stack the riser kits, but as long as you have the right length bolts, I haven't had any trouble doing it.

  • Yeah you can, only reason I haven't swapped them is I already have the PD riser kits etc, so makes no sense to me for a small comfort upgrade.

£70 but these are really expensive rrp and everyone seems to rate them
