That’s what I thought when I got back into it many years later - i could still do a 360 and a mini roll back but little else.
Probably best looking on eBay! -

If I can still do a 360 and not die I will do so fucking thrilled

i've got 2 x frames - 1 x CYAA and 1 x Anarchy but both aluminium race frames,
Steel supercross forks and a few other bits but not really any use for freestyle eddie fiola / craig campbell type skate park shenanigans -

I've got a cheap Specialized Vegas (from circa 2001/2002) which is surplus - yours for £50. It's 99% original as per when it left Evans back in the day. 20" top tube. Only thing is, it's in West Sussex (RH12).

Thanks both of you but think I need steel

The Vegas is 100% chromoly :)

Oh shit sorry, do you have any pics? Does it have a massive front ring? Thinking of going more new school than the haro I had bitd

Standard ratio gearing. 44t sprocket, 16t rear. You could easily switch to a smaller sprocket though :)

No worries - and yes, it's proper tonka - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I lost count how many S&M's my mates broke (back in the day)!

What’s your budget?
I have a few bits kicking around, probably enough to build a bike with but want to hang onto a few of them like the frame and forks.
I definitely have a wheelset and a choice of sprockets that wouldn’t cost you the Earth. Also a stem, bars, some 2.1 park tyres that probably would fit that specialised.

Didn't need hub guards then eh

Ended up getting this
Excuse the shit picture and the mess
Wethepeople envy circa 09, quite a nice bike in its day with some decent parts, fairly good nick, just a few rusty bolts
Pottered down to the little skatepark in West Norwood merrily hopping over the speed bumps, perfect landings every time, did a little footjam endo at the lights, hopped up the curb and by the time I got through the park gate my back was spasming and my knee throbbing from getting banged by a crank or something.
By this point I was exhausted, nostalgia turning rapidly to ptsd, but there were youths vaping on the quarter so I felt I had to do something and with the bike growing heavier every moment I discovered in quick succession that I can barely bunny hop 12”, have not the gumption to even attempt a little box grind, completely forgotten how to fakie down the bank let alone turn around and then I hurt myself 4 times in a row trying a footjam tail whip which was once a party trick, and then I went home.
Need to put some hours in or this might be a for sale thread soon

Nifty bike and a great post. That peg looks enormous!
This is exactly how I feel about trying to get back into skateboarding every couple of months. I always travel locally by board but the idea of attempting to heelflip a set of stairs now fills me with dread. It’s still fun though.Give it all you can this summer, if you’re bored by winter then think again.
Stay rad! -

I went skating with a mate who’s kept it up last year, he’s moved to Reigate and they’ve got a class concrete park with bowl sections and big boxes and a bank of quarters and flats, miles better than the council offerings we had
He’s casually dropping into the biggest bits, 50-50ing the coping round the curved section and pulling big shuvits and kick flips over the boxes, all stuff I could sometimes do at 15 but terrifying now, after spending an hour remembering how to balance I was popping up onto a tiny 18” box and building up to manualing across it when I see the bastard pumping round at speed, big no grab air at least a foot above the coping on the quarter next to me then pops up off the box and does a perfect board slide along the top of the box rail and then down the other side, lands flawlessly and just circles away
There were half a dozen local kids banging their boards on the ground and shouting fuck yes, a 12 year old on a micro scooter asked him if he was sponsored
Pretty sure he would have taken 100 tries to do it again but I was so happy. King of the skatepark for an afternoon and I the prince by association

Priory park? Spent a great deal of my youth there. Not riding or skating but drinking and smoking
-

That’s the one, much more wholesome now I’m sure and everyone wears helmets
I was skinning up when one guy on a bmx asked me when I last skated and I said 05 or something and he said oh I wasn’t born then. Deadpan. Had to go for walk across the other side of the field to bun felt like a fucking nonce.

Brilliant 😂 made be laugh a lot
Especially the back spasming bit🤣
I can’t stop thinking about a bmx. I haven’t had one for twenty years but in my mind’s eye I can still do cool stuff.
Sell me a bmx please, nothing fancy. Park & freestyle not racing or “pump track” whatever that is
