WTD: Bits for motley 1x drivetrain

- cassette (11-40 or similar)
  Shimano compatible
anything in the shed?
open to 9 speed or 10 speed ... could even do 8
it's for a bike I rescued from a skip and often street-locked so nothing fancy pls

there is someone giving away some of those shimano brake-shifter combo flat bar levers on the forum who I am hopefully going to go visit and pick up some cassettes from and to pair with that I could give you a altus 8spd rear mech. Free, but would all be quite junky and possibly not OK with 40t cassette?
