SOLD Squirt Chain Lube - 500ml - £39

Instead of becoming a better cyclist, I bought this to upgrade my chain efficiency game and go faster. But then I heard about chain waxing which is even quicker.

Now it’s surplus to requirements and I’m trying to make my money back.

How clean do chain/cassette/chain rings need to be for this to stick? guessing fairly but less than immersion waxes or would I be incorrect

Very. If there's any oil on your chain (or inside the rollers) wax/squirt wont stick to it. The difference is that with immersion you also ruin your batch of wax with a contaminated chain, here it just wont work well with the wax based lubricant.

From what little I've read on it, isn't the technique to clean the parts in an ultrasonic cleaner before waxing - always looked pretty involved to me!

Squirt is literally chain waxing. If youre doing immersion waxing then squirt is still handy to top up your chain wax between immersions. I would keep it.

It is, but only the first time around. You can also buy chains that already have it removed to save you the faff. You can do it with several stages of different solvents, aid it with ultrasonic cleaner...etc.

Once your waxed chain gets dirty, you can wash it out in boiling hot water, dry it, then immersion wax again.

And as said, squirt can be used as topup.

It's a good idea to keep some for a top-up, I already have a 120ml bottle and it seems to last forever.
No need to keep the 500ml bad boy.
