  • Has anyone else found the new wiggle off-putting? The search is missing filters, my discount has vanished, the new palette and logo kinda suck?, etc.

I don’t understand what’s happened. They had a good brand and working website before, what are they trying to achieve?

  • I think they're trying to appeal to less experienced cyclists by simplifying things a bit. I've got friends who say they know Wiggle is the place to buy bike stuff online, but they got there and found the stock range bewildering and didn't know what to search for to narrow down their choice

  • Had to check a few times I was using the correct site, as its such a shift from the orange palette and instantly recognisable logo.

  • yeah, it's a bit shit. though by removing the 'sort by discount' they've probably saved me buying stuff I don't need, so there's that

  • removing the 'sort by discount'

    😱

  • I guess they've integrated CRC and Wiggle on the same platform.

Maybe they've fucked them both in the process, who knows. Looks a bit Evans from 2015 tbh

  • Are they being nobs?

  • Do they still send Haribo?

  • Asking the real questions

  • They have.

I said in the wiggle-R-nobs thread that I preferred the search filters on crc but they’ve gone and fucked them, removing loads of useful stuff.

  • They seem to be breaking all the Signa Sports websites, this has been up on the Bikester front page for weeks.

  • I ordered from them for the first time since the new site last week. They'd basically lost all my details other than being able to log in, all address information gone.

stuff seems harder to find than it was.

  • yeah, they sent around an email saying they were binning all the past order history and that you'd need to download it if you wanted it. pretty dire user experience there

  • Looks like Google have also taken a dislike to the new site, they seem to have tumbled down the rankings

  • Basic account information migration and transformation is a given though isn’t it?

  • At least it still loads quicker than the Rapha site

  • Thanks for sharing an interesting source material.

After the update, the topmost homepage picture was a slightly out of focus lady covering half her smiling face with her hand. Weeks later, it showed another image of the slightly out of focus lady accompanied by an out of focus man, who is either laughing heartily or trying to catch raindrops in his open mouth.

Presumably a whole team thought the pics were sufficiently related to the idea of ‘online (non-mountaineering) sports retailer’ to make them the first thing customers see on the new website. If I’d been asked to guess, a cycling or triathlon retailer never would have occurred to me.

Maybe the two first happy folks pictured were meant to make the company seem more relatable, but then their over the top mega-pumped blurb is ridiculous, not just corporate cringey.

I noticed today they’ve gone back to images of kit, Lycra-clad cycling men and determined running women. It all just seems like they’ve rushed something out to address real or imagined urgent issues, and their choice of new presentation is confused and confusing. To top it off, they’ve made their functionality worse, pleasing no one.

  • Probable paid thousands to a consultancy who sold them a pup ! Now not answering their phones.

  • New website is horrible to use but at least it has this sort of helpful descriptions.

Your bike drivetrain includes every component involved in delivering the power from your legs to the wheels, including your bike's crankset, through the bike's cassette, freehub, and bike derailleur.

  • I'm supportive of content that helps people who aren't mega nerds to understand bikes and bike components but it reads like the author was being paid a bonus for every time they wrote the word "bike"

  • reads like the author was being paid a bonus for every time they wrote the word "bike"

Or the author wasnt paid at all because it was written by ai?

  • You mean because they left out the bike pedals and bike chain?

  • I can't remember the last time that Wiggle or CRC had something I wanted actually in stock.

Maybe they spent all their money on the website and forgot to buy the parts?

  • More disappointing for me are the inconsistent haribos. Seems like the larger the purchase the less likely they are to include them. :/
