If you are coming in from
The kinda north Canada Common is a hood entry point. There are so many good off-road cycle ways in the forest.
Look in a planner with cycle OSM and you’ll see a good bunch. You can’t really go too wrong in the forest as long as you avoid the A35 as much as possible.

Thanks for the reply. I know the Forest really well so after crossing in at Wellow or similar I’m quite happy… I say quite because I don’t know the fire trails as well. Is that Canada Common ^^^ ?
I’m staying in Burley and keen for a joined up off road route from Wellow (or similar) all the way across.
I’m riding from Farnham to the New Forest in two weeks. It’s a route I’ve done loads on a road bike - either setting off from London and via Farnham; or train to Farnham and ride the rest. This time it’s the latter; I don’t have many miles in the legs this year and the gravel bike is heavy going enough as it is!
Question is, does anyone have any recommended roads or lanes that I should try to include (particularly as I’ll have off road capability this time)?
I usually go round the top of Winchester and southbound along the Test Valley with Romsey on my left and then it depends where in the forest I’m staying.
Would love to hear suggestions. Ta!
