  • Hi all.

Not 100% commited to selling this yet, I mean it has to go, but I might part it out and keep a few bits, but figured I would see if anyone wants to snap it up as a complete.

It's an XL Pearson I may be some time. The TT CTC is 54cm which is a bit weird. I'm 6"1 for reference and it's been lovely so idk.

It's honestly a super cool bike. It's got everything. Fits massive tyres (currently has 40c with fenders) touring geo (long wheel base, super stable) and a banging paintjob if your into that kinda thing.

Is not box fresh, it's bee my commuter/touring/bike packing bike for the last 4 years.

If there's enough interest I would split, as I want to keep stuff.

    Components:
Nitro bullmooses of some description. I'm keeping the sq inner barends.
    R500 flat bar shifters
    Paul levers
    Paul mini motos
Sujino ox cranks (really keen to keep these tbf)
    105 derailleurs and cassette
    Hope pro 3 rear hub
Sp pv8 front hub both laced to dt swiss r460's with nice double butted spokes
Nitro rack (also really keen to keep) with basket (either wald or blb, can't tell, it's a bit ratty)
Bush and miller light with charger (probs defs will keep)
Fancy hope looking seatpost but it's not labeled and I can't remember where it came from.

Won't come with pedals or saddle. It's got some SKS guards on it but they are ratty as heck so...

Price. I'm really not sure tbh. Was hoping for £700, but I could be off.

Currently hidden away in West London.

  • Awesome bike! Remember reading a superlative 5 star road.cc review of this bike years and years ago. Too small for me though. I think your price is fair but seems hard to get going rate for anything here these days unless it's a gravel bike!

  • Nice looking bike, and priced well.

Would be keen on Nitto rack/basket/Edelux if you would be tempted to split

    Glws

  • Thanks, I wasn't sure what rim brake bikes are worth anymore. I'll let you know if I decide to split.

  • What is a gravel bike other than a large clearance road bike. It has been rad though, didn't realise it came out in 2012! For context I bought it off a mate in 2017 I think.

  • I have decided to split due to indecision/hoarderism. Will update thread shortly.

  • Yay! Nice to see someone with another I May Be Some Time.
Definitely look good moreover for this price! Good luck with the sale. 🤞✌️

This beauty is mine, I build it from Scratch when I was working as a bicycle mechanic in Pearson's Sheen. Sorry, not for sale.

  • Split update? Interested in Mini Motos

  • Potential dibs if still available - can I confirm tomorrow?

  • Yes, Ill post in a seperate thread tonight.

  • Sorry, missed this, Im glad I split it, the BB was toasted so I wouldnt have been happy selling it as a complete

  • Did the mini-motos sell ? Dibs if you still have them

Edit: I’m tired - just seen above

  • Frame Update!

    TT actual (CTC): 53.5cm
ST actual (CT top of clamp): 53.5
    Wheel Base: 106cm
    axle to crown: 39cm

Pearson lable this as an XL. As you can see from the photos, I had a bit of a stack and Ive always run it with a set back post. For reference sake, Im 6'1', and its always been really nice, but sometimes thats not always a good measure.

Its a super cool bike. It EASILY clears a 40 with guards- its got canti/mini V/V brake mounts, its got classic styling. One thing that is not that diserable these days, but makes it an EXCELLENT rando bike is its longer wheelbase and longer chainstays. That combine with the rake on the fork means it gets that steel excellence mark of approval. Its also got classic bike appeal.

Condition-wise. Looks, lets be frank. This bike came out in 2012. I bought it off a mate in 2018, who bought it as a frame in 2017 off ebay. From its current condition, I reckon it has sat in sheds for a decent amount of time. That being said, its a little beat up. Not saying its ruined, its used. I honestly didnt plan on selling this, I was going to hide it in a loft and forget about it, but thats no longer possible. Its been my dual purpose touring commuter gravel road bike since I purchased it, its been replaced and now it needs to leave. Also its Renyolds 731!

Have a peak at the photos* here: https://imgur.com/a/A5FMN6c

*I gave it a quick scrub, loads of the back muck is just grease. Im bad at cleaning. I know this.

I reckon its worth £300. If Im well off, fair, Im happy to talk about it.

Comes with a black hope seatpost clamp and a cane creek 40 headset.

  • Cheers… still keen, just need to know a pric£ : )

  • Oof that’s nice, tempted…

  • Go on, treat yourself

  • Price Drop, £280! What a bargin! You (anyone) should buy it and make it a lovely summer bike!

  • So so tempting.... However, murder by partner is not appealing.... 🤣🤣

  • Price on the Nitto Bullmoose bars if available ?

  • Is that a nitto ui-12 stem in the drop bar pic? Dibs pending length if you are selling

Those ox601 cranks are bloody expensive too, one of the very very few low Q factor, 24mm axle cranks you can put a sub-compact (and smaller) on

  • I called them, they said no worries! (they didnt, please dont get murdered)

  • Pm repled too, sorry already gone

  • Those are some sharp peepers, it is, but Im holding on to it for sentemental reasons.

The ox601's are awesome! I bought them for all the reasons you started. My one complaint is the pre-tension bolt used a 5mm hex and is made of cheese. It stripped (threads re fine) so I had to drill two holes so you can use a pin wrench to get it in and out. Very annoying. Otherwise fantastic, considereing selling them also but they fall into the sentemental catagory, so we will see.

  • Are the wheels available if so how much would you part for them? Ta!

  • I'm losing my mind with all this crazyness here! £260! "Wow, what a fantastic price" - The Guardian (probably)
