she/her?

From times of old haven't vehicles etc are always been referred to as female. Probably not PC but FFS!

I don't really give a toss either way - it's your bike, and you can call/refer to your bike however you like. As per the car restoration world/scene - i.e. if someone is examining the underside of your vehicle and they comment upon how you used an incorrect/non factory bolt/clip etc they shouldn't be surprised if they get injured when you 'accidentally' drive over the fcuker.

Referring to cars / bikes as “she” promotes the ideology that women are objects.. so let’s drop it yeh.

yep sort that out.
aside from that a very fair deal on a decent bike. ideal first bike for someone wanting to try out riding fixed. glws

Looking for my first fixed gear, could this be ideal? I also can get to Victoria easily.

It's currently set up on the freewheel - but could be switched over easy enough (wheel out/flip it round/put it back in). I've never actually ran it fixed so I'll try it out over the weekend.

Okay let me know if it rides okay

Sure thing, should hopefully get a chance to try it in fixed tomorrow. It rides fine on the freewheel side as I've been using it for 2-3yrs in this setup.

Gave the PBL a wash and once over yesterday - seeing as the sun was out.
Also checked the rear wheel in fixed mode - and as I expected no problems whatsoever. Rear brake does stick a little but nothing a remove/clean/refit shouldn't sort out.

That's great to hear, as long as it's in good working order to ride away then I can certainly take it off your hands. When would be best for you?
-
• #16
Yep, all good working order. I'll swap the seatpost and saddle over to different ones - the saddle will probably be a 'whatever isn't on another bike' but it'll be fine :)
I checked with Southern rail and non-folding bikes aren't allowed during peak travel, so the earliest I could get to Victoria would be 10am (on a Tuesday or Thursday).

Could you do any times in the afternoon?

Unfortunately not as there is nowhere at work for me to store the bike

Hi,
So, whilst I figure out what I'm gonna replace my trusty steed with I thought it best to start a post regards to moving it on...
It's a 2007 Poo-brown Langster (the one with the skull decals) and is a size 52. It has certainly lived a life and is mostly original i.e. tektro brakes, alex rims (with flip-flop rear hub), specialized stem, messenger crank and chain ring (drive side), but the previous owner fitted a Shimano crank arm on the NDS (and I never got around to replacing it). It has also been slightly upgraded with some profile design airwing os bars fitted with itm-levers. I do have the original drop bars and levers which I can include with the bike.
NOTE: I will be keeping the saddle and seatpost - but can provide a replacement generic saddle and post so it could be ridden away.
I've posted up a couple of pictures of it - obviously the white bar tape is not as white anymore :)
Price wise... No idea really... £125? - but if you have a complete On-One Inbred (18") to swap we could probably do a deal.
It's located in Horsham, West Sussex - but I could bring it up to Victoria/Warren St area. However, this would be after a deposit - as I'm not lugging it into town for 'viewings' - if you know what I mean :)
Cheers,
Mike
