Too kind, Jo! [And credit for what is the best profile picture I've ever seen on this forum.] And thanks Adroit too for helping us spread the word. Much appreciated.
If anyone out there reading this has any questions, don't hesitate to let me know. More than happy to dispel any misconceptions and clarify stuff that might be on folks' minds.

Dear all,
I wanted to introduce the Fasted 500 cycling challenge to the LFGSS community.
The Fasted 500 encourages Muslim cyclists to stay active by riding 500 kilometers during the month of Ramadan, a time when many of us are less active than usual to conserve energy (or go into hibernation mode!) while fasting.
Inspired by Rapha’s longstanding Festive 500, the challenge is aimed at a broad group of Muslim cyclists with a more casual interest in cycling who can find the time to average a more attainable 17 kilometers a day during Ramadan’s 30-day span.
Participants who complete the challenge will be entitled to purchase a lovely commemorative roundel, from which all profits will be donated to a Bristol-based youth empowerment organisation, details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.
The roundel was redesigned for 2023 and ties in oranges, pinks, and purples to represent the familiar hues of sunrise and sunset, as well as the familiar crescent moon (a nod to the lunar calendar).
The 2023 Fasted 500 is supported by Rapha UK and Wizard Works, and there will be some fun competitions during the month with chances to win some cool prizes :)
Participants are free to get their kilometers in however they can, whether that’s outside or riding the trainer, and pedaling in a fasted state isn’t a requirement, meaning night owls can also head out to ride at night after their evening Iftar meal.

In the meantime, here are some photos of our picnic at Regent’s Park last year, as well as an image of this year’s roundel.
Best wishes
Zahir
