Muddyfox Roadrunner 1990s conversion/project (SOLD)

  • Selling a Muddfox Roadrunner. I picked this up from a bike co-op about 5 years ago, the parts are a bit of a mish mash of everything they had and of mixed quality / age, but a fun build! If I had more time i'd probably strip it back to the frame and build up again to a bit of a higher standard. The frame itself is a lovely quirky thing. 1990s I think, would guess early-mid but don't really know. Think it's a size large but i'll get some more accurate measurements (it's currently in storage at my parent's place, not been ridden in 5+ years so time for a new home..)

Not included are the pedals pictured here (though will try and sub for something else), the bottle, or the bag.

Open to offers. Collection only either from somewhere in London, or from Hampshire (Emsworth) where the bike is currently being stored..

  • Looks nice, PM'd

  • Exactly what I’m looking for, 2nd Pm.

  • Marking as SOLD for now pending buyers inspection. Thanks for the interest!

  • I had one of those frame bags on my first MTB in the 90s, looks so good and retro! Mind me asking where you got yours? I’d love one again. (Whole bike looks great, GLWS)

  • I've got one which you can have for postage?

  • the bag came with the build from the bike co-op! Looks like they crop up on ebay though, here's one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125747233064?hash=item1d471e8128 (bit overpriced IMO, but I do love the vibes)

  • Oh wow that’s so kind of you to offer. Will send you a DM!

  • Yeah the vibes are perfect, just a bit pricey like you said (I actually couldn’t remember the brand name, just the logo, good to have found that out from this post)

  • This is available again (original buyer pulled out)

Having examined the bike again after retrieving it from storage I would say it needs more work than I originally anticipated: overall needs a deep clean up (covered in dust from storage), brakes probably need new cables and setting up again, gears are ok but could benefit from a tune up too.

Otherwise it's ok but ultimately i'd say the value is really in the frame itself and not the parts which are a big mix of age and quality, so would most likely suit someone trying to strip and rebuild it, but it is rideable nonetheless! A couple of photos here taken today.

Looking for a quick sale and would take close to £100 for it. Collection from Hackney / London Fields / Bethnal Green. thanks!
