• Just purchased a new (to me), fast, winter bike, so this trusted steed is for sale £800 OVNO.

This bike has been with me (from new) since 2015, it has done very few miles but those miles have been some of the best. I've built this frame as everything from a winter chaingang to a monster-cross bike. It's always been well cared for, and it shows in my opinion.

    Current build is:

62cm Surly Cross Check frameset in 'beef gravy' (yes, it's called that)
HPlus archetype rims paired to DT Swiss 350 hubs (aka gods own hubs)
10 speed Shimano Ultegra 6700 groupset (175 compact cranks)
TRP CX9 rim brakes (the most powerful rim brake in existence)
    Canyon VCLS seatpost
    Ritchey classic bars and stem
    Specialised Romin Evo saddle
    Portland Design Works metal mudguards
Challenge Strade Biancha tyres (brown-wall, 36c)

I'm also including, for the tourer in you:

    Tubus tara 'lowrider' front rack
2x Brooks (by Ortleib) front panniers

This listing is for complete bike only with rack and panniers, if i need to split I may cannibalise/spare part bin.

Bike is with me in Shrewsbury, happy to travel to Birmingham, Bath or perhaps London if the opportunity arises. Happy to post at cost to seller also.

Temporary photos which I'll replace with nicer on the next sunny day:

  • Hi, really interested pending photos, feel free to dm crap ones if you have a reputation to defend on the forum :)

  • Could also be interested, depending on pics.

  • Just added some temporary pics which I'll update once it's bright outside.

  • Is this still available? Any chance of splitting for just the frame and fork or rolling chassis? Cheers

  • If you do split it, I'll gladly take the TRP Cx9s.

  • Thanks for the offers peeps. Still available as a complete right now — I would split if it wasn't for the absolute hassle of doing so and the value of the whole being very much more than the sum of parts.

  • If the time comes, ill take wheels maybe.

  • Ahh no worries, in that case I'll have a think and a check of my bank account after Christmas and reach back out if it's still knocking about :).

  • Id take brake calipers if you split

    EDIT: and PDW's
