I was just reading about this...

I did a section of this today: Thetford to Norwich. Had superb weather; blue skies and sun all day although still only 8 - 10 degrees so knee warmers and full finger gloves were needed. The lanes near Hopton were lovely. Massive skies, lush fields of green and raptors a plenty.

I can recommend the Angel cafe in Diss and Norfolk nosh in Long Stratton for food.

We bikepacked this route easter weekend. A bit busier but not so much and mostly paved

Did you camp? Interested to know where if you did.

Yes we did. We started the route in Diss and went anti-clockwise to be able to catch a train in Thetford on the way back as trains had engineering works this weekend.
First night we stayed in an hotel as we couldn't find a campsite that wasn't fully booked, but for night two we stayed in Hunstanton. There are several campsites there, but we stayed here.
For night three we stayed near Thetford here
There are plenty of woodland to wild camp in though, if you are into that

A couple of mates were doing this yesterday and today, (15hrs 27mins 18sec), the pictures look aces. Theyβve b&b ed it and have gone clockwise. Liz and I got the book on preorder, but have yet to set off. Soon, maybe after Holland? Weβll be doing it partypace β’οΈ

looks fab! Liz and I WILL do it soon!!!

yeah partypace should be the way for this one. You just want to relax and breathe for this route. It's pretty easy with not many climbs and you mostly ride in quiet roads. The only sections I'd do faster are in busier roads near Diss/Norwich and in a few sections after Kings Lynn

I did the Holt to Norwich section today. Started out cold with numb fingers, a jacket and knees warmers. Ended up in the sun sans knee warmers and jacket. Much more grave and dirt paths on this section. Plenty of nice food places in Holt; I recommend Cross Street Union for coffee.

Doing this next week Thurs-Sat, setting off from Norwich and staying at B&Bs in Swaffham and Wells-next-the-Sea. Party pace on a 26er with a basket. If anyone wants to join drop me a line, otherwise I'm flying solo!

what time are you setting off on Thu?
-

When are you setting off on Thursday? I might be up for joining you for a bit of the ride if I'm not on half term dad duties.
I'm doing the N. Norfolk bit (Holt to King's Lynn) the following weekend with friends as a mini tour (party pace and beer). -

It was fun, sometimes Type 2 given a fairly significant headwind. Lot of lanes and not a huge amount of loose stuff but the lanes were lovely and super quiet. With the trains totally fubar I drove and parked up near the Crown Point Tavern in Trowse Newton just a few kms from the start.
First night at the Pig Shed Motel, Castle Acre; banging food at the adjoining George and Dragon. Second night at the Globe Inn, Wells.
