Univega 503 - L - 26"

  • Built this up during the pandemic and testing the waters for potential buyers as it looks like I might be leaving the UK fairly soon. Used as a LDN commuter with slicks but has also been taken for some offroad fun in the North Wessex Downs and Pentland Hills. Climbs very nicely! Setup 1x9, half finished project, I would probably fit a narrow-wide and maybe a disc on the front for winter fun!

    In the words of stridsland:

These Univegas are super rad, always with massive tire clearance,
those funky chain stays, pretty cool colour combos, usually a
threadless forks, and that extra bottle cage mount under the down tube
(for the gram points) if lots of water capacity is your thing. In
general, old mtb frames are an exceptional starting point for a cheap
functional / daily / touring / adventure bike.

20" 503 Frame - Bits of surface rust, few scratches, but otherwise good nick
1" Threadless fork w disc mounts
    Nice new headset
Deore XT - Mavic X221 w/ 6 bolt for disc
    New(ish) impac smartpac tyres
    Shimano 110bcd Cranks
    Stronglight 32T chainring
    Shimano 10-34 casette.
    Specialized riser bars
    RSP Grips
    6061 Alloy 100mm stem
    Deore LX rear mech
Deore LX front mech (used for chain retention instead of narrow wide)
    Shimano Canti + V-brake front
    Flite w Ti rails
Impact smartpac 2.2" tyres in good nick
    Alloy Seatpost
    Altus brake levers
    Shimano 9 speed thumb shifter

    Looking for about 200!
