I think I can make the October ride ! Haven't met anyone on here (other than for sales) before so would be nice to put some faces to names and all of that. Might put my Bob Jackson back together or might just put some different bars and a pair of hoods on my race bike.

There is a 'Greggs' in Edenbridge but there is also 'Boyce's Bakery' in the high street that does sausage rolls (Not sure if they do a vegan option though) and a mean Belgian Bun.

Hiya @jmg412 yeah singlespeed is all good.
Looks like there's a nice group so far, looking forward to this.

-

Go ahead lead something more you're way! I live in SE Kent so NE London is too tricky for me to get to on an average weekend but anyone else keen should do it

Still on for Saturday?
Hiya! I thought I’d run a few shorter FG/SS rides before January so those who are keen for HDIJ but unsure about group riding fixed in the lanes, the distance, or anything else really can get any niggles out with some lower stakes riding (shorter and warmer basically). That way those interested can get out for a ride, and if they dig it, turn up to the Hard Day with a bit more confidence. I know there are people out there with sweet fixies who would probably enjoy the HDIJ so this is a way to open it up to those maybe on the fence.
Start at Elmer’s End in SE London around 9am, do a 40 or 45 mile loop with a few hills and then make our way back. The idea is to chat, see some friendly faces and test out your road fixed (and the legs). These will be no-heroics, get-around-safely-and-have-fun rides. There will be other experienced riders out with me on the day to help make sure things go smoothly.
You can expect:
• Steady but easy-rolling miles
• some hills
• my crap jokes
• between 1 and 3 skids max
