Lazy R7000 shift lever

  • My Shimano 105 (R7000) RH shifter release trigger 'sticks' in the inboard position. It can be flicked back in place and continues to operate, but compared with the LH shifter it is 'soft', as if a spring had lost its sproing.

    Can anyone diagnose please?

  • The rubber hood is not interfering in some way?

  • maybe it's the cable sticking rather than the lever?

  • Worth checking, both suggestions, but all is quite new and in good order — hood is in good shape, cables are recent, well dressed, and greased before installation. All was working perfect...then it wasn't.

  • Wd40 on the hinge yet? Tried with the hood pulled back? Also check if the cable head is still properly seated in the ratchet.

  • I'll have another go at flooding the interior with WD40 — it's probably just solidified grease
