WTD: Carbon Clinchers - TT Training Wheels

Posted on
  • Evening all,

I’ve just picked up a Trinity Pro for TTs/Triathlons but need some training wheels as should probably keep the tubs/rear disc for racing only.

Ideally clinchers as I don’t fancy relying on tubs in the event of a mid-ride puncture, but let me know what you have got.

    Cheers,

    Lewis

  • Be careful of some of the newer wide rims on these frames. I had some carbon clinchers built without checking clearance first and they wouldn't fit 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • Cheers for the heads up mate! The Giant website indicates max. 28mm external width so I’ll have to stick to that.

  • I have some Zipp 302s, rim brake clinchers. Let me know if you’re interested and I can fire off some pics.

  • I've got my Gigantex/FRM 38mm tubs built with 24/20 CX Rays. Carbon shell, carbon axle, alu flanges in blingy gold.

Come with excellent 22mm GP4000s. Spin up lovely, braking surfaces are lightly used, got some spare bearings for the rear as well.

I filed the FRM freehub half a mil at the back so it'd accept 11 speed, also comes with a Campagnolo freehub body, lockring only goes to 12T however.
They're brilliantly solid wheels, it's just that since I bought the Bora's a few years back I don't use them

    Say £300 incl postage
