•Photo 1 is the most recent (Graffiti background)
•Photo 4 newly stripped & polished (Garden background)

Other photos are differing times during ownership. The bike has been in garage storage and does not currently resemble photo 4 (clean steel). Please request extra photos if you need them for peice of mind.

FRAMES CONDITION CHANGES OVER TIME as it is raw steel. See photos for reference!

WILL NOT POST THIS LARGE ITEM!

📍Pick up from Peterborough train station or March town, Cambridgeshire.

Viewings possible but not guaranteed as I no longer live in the UK. The cycle is with my family.

Pick up ONLY (anytime from August 2022)

This cycle includes a selection of NJS (Japanese racing approved) & other quality parts. Including brands like; NITTO , IZUMI, AEROTRACK, MKS & MICHE.

The parts alone are worth WELL over 350 GBP! I love this bike, built it myself & am only selling as I now live in Japan.

I hope someone can enjoy it as much as I have!

    • Always stored indoors
    • Only high quality parts
    • Rusty / minor scratches due to age of frame but nothing compromising the bikes integrity or safety
    • Can easily be stripped & returned to bare (and beautiful) Columbus steel / painted any colour
    • This bike currently has a front brake only but easily adapted.

    Parts List :

Frame = Believed to be a possible late 70s Bianchi Pista frame (paint stripped & lacquered)

    Stem - Nitto Pearl9 (NJS)

Rims = 700c Halo Aerotrack wheelset (Clincher type - basically new!)

Tyres = Continental Gatorskins (25C Wired - basically new!)

Chain = Izumi Gold track chain (NJS)

Handle Bars = NITTO ‘Special risers’- closed ends (NJS) (https://store.bluelug.com/nitto-closed-polished-riser-bar-special.html)

Grips = 'Made in the USA’ (Octopus Grip-style)

    Front Brake lever = Tektro

Brake Callipers = Miche Black + new pads

Crank = Unknown brand single speed

Back Cog = Shimano (single speed free-wheel)

    Pedals = MKS Silver (NJS)

Saddle = By Brick Lane Bikes (no holes or tears)

Seat Post = Unknown Silver steel

    Characteristics / Notes :

    1. The seat post is more difficult to adjust than usual, due to previous owner using a slightly too small a seat post- the seat & stem are in good condition!

    2. ‘Crankset’ type metal section welded to back forks (likely for a rear brake or stability) & adjacent to freewheel area. This work was professionally completed before I got the frame - a head turner among bike fam for sure.

If you are looking for a perfect bike off the shelf, please do not bid. If you are looking for a TOP QUALITY bespoke cycle with character, this is a bargain find!!

I love this bike. And hope you will too! 🚴

  • Oh no

  • Oh dear

  • Constant bad news around the world and now this!

  • Everything that is wrong with LFGSS 🫣 Go spend time with yourself.

  • Again — subjective opinion. Why on here? Go & phone into your local radio station, they need you & your ‘mind’ there! 😐

  • Thanks for your your academic comparison between the current state of the world and this collection of human tightened metal parts.

Bad vibes = Bad news. Funny eh..

  • I'm sorry I touched a nerve - it was only in jest.

    GLWS (sincerely)

  • If you paid over 500£ for the parts alone you took a L

  • I think it's a really interesting frame with the added bridge and all but it has been stripped and left to rust. Raw steel should have a patina but not so much surface rust as far as I know. It's just not for me but who knows, someone may take it at your asking price.

The parts, and it's just my opinion, are not worth over 500 pound. Its optimistic. These kind of things are open to criticism and I think you took light hearted comments a bit personal.

You are right though, we could be a bit more constructive and I'm sorry we hurt your feelings.

Edit: thank you for changing some rust to rusty. I am now happy and accept your ad as realistic. GLWS.

  • Believed to be a possible late 70s Bianchi Pista frame

    please compile evidence for this...

  • Back in the 70s Bianchi did put their serial numbers at the top of their steerer tube like that, but I've never seen those lugs on a Bianchi. It looks like it's possibly an early seventies or most probably earlier road bike frame. It's okay though. GLWS

  • And this, boys and girls, is why we use paint.

  • Oh dear oh dear

  • Here to dibs for the bar+stem combo in the eventual/possible split.

    Let me know.

  • dibs 1 bottle cage screw, perhaps a chainring bolt pending price and pics.

  • I see we have another one.. 😸

  • Rust doesn't drip like this. Proper weird. That seat tube cluser, track ends and fork crown don't look like anything Bianchi or any high end frame builder has ever used. Looks like a 90s gas pipe Peugeot that someone put track ends on along with the odd fake disc brake mount thing.

  • Wheels and tyres maybe £150 on ebay; bars and stem £30 each. Bin the rest.

  • Hi All, thanks for your continued comments & insight. Please see below some photos of a Bianchi (in Celeste colour) featuring the exact same fork crowns and an identical serial number engraved in 8mm type on the top of head tube.

The steel is still in great condition - I have had this frame looking sparkling several times in my 10 years of ownership.

sbbohr - I am simply delivering information from a previous post trying to identify this frame on LFGSS.

Sumo - The 'drips' you might be referencing are remanence of lacquer that had previously been applied.
